The observer.

Drawing flowers around the holes on my refill pad.
The talking in the classroom is like the muffled sounds of a TV.
Outside the planes drone across the sky,
The breeze gently blows the curtain and stirs the still air,
Here I am again, standing outside my self as if I’m an observer,
I watch my self like a child looks at something he is unsure of.
My eyes seem dull and have turned form blue grey to steel blue,
I want to walk over and sit next to me, I see a tear drop as I look out the window to the setting sun.
The bottle on the sill catches the afternoon light and spreads fragmented colors across the page in front of me, my finger touches it as if to see if its tangible and I start to write, and I write and I write until the page is covered with words and color.
It seems so simple but I can see the marvel in my eyes.
It’s only a moment but now its written I will always remember the observer.

Up town clubs and street life, chemicals running through my veins …
I Watch the drag queens and listen to the hum of clubs and creation moving ,Flesh looking for flesh fulled with drugs and longing desire and loneness all mixed together sounding like thousand of voices wailing in grief.
It’s the sound of love looking for itself an unable to find the cure for the burning that turns the bright eyes of seeking youth into dark pools of lust.
Innate Longing claws inside us and burns like oil wells.
From the cradle to the grave it can never be satisfied or quenched, only channeled.

Hey…
I’m sitting on the beach you should have seen the sunrise this morning.
I was thinking of you and couldn’t sleep; I walked to the beach as the morning light took the edge of the darkness.
I wasn’t thinking too much about the sunrises so it took me by surprise as I sat down in the dunes.

It’s crisp blue this morning, I’m wearing those bell-bottom blue jeans, big brown belt and those old leather jandels, yeah! Them? And a thick black woolen jersey that zips up to my chin. It feels so snug, kind of like your sitting behind me with your arms wrapped around my shoulder

The swell is about 3 foot, a light offshore breeze is blowing spray off the waves as the dawn light turns them sort of jade and blue, its a perfect size for you .
A few seagulls just flew across the huge rising sun; it looks like some sort of 1970’s surfers T –shirt graphic.
As the light starts to move and colors change every few seconds is like turning pages in a beautiful seascape calendar,

Alone dog walks between the low tide reflections of colour leaveing only his soft prints that slowly dissolve as if he was only spirit
…”Yeah I’m having a moment it so beautiful.”
Ok, must Leg it out of here before the world wakes, there are so many reason I cant stay.
Ill leaves you here in the dunes with my memories of this last morning this place and this sunrise,
you going to have to unwrap those arms now.

Consecration puts us in a place that by nature we would rather not be.

- To be richly held in loving esteem
- Adored for their passion of justice
- Power to encourage greatness in others

Will their heroes be mother Teresa or Donald Trump?

What we want for them is in the core of us is what we want for OURSELFS…

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic insomniac?
He lay awake all night wondering if there really was a Dog.

I’ve always wondered if there really was a Dog, Dum and Mad would sit by my bed at night and tell stories of this Dog,
That he knew my voice, would come when I call, was my best friend and would protect me.

I found a book all about my dog
It seems he managed to get a lot of Jewish people to follow him around a desert for 40-years.
I wonder where he was going?

Anyway!
I can’t seem to find him , it seems like a lot of people are looking for him, more the better I suppose! ???
I’ve tried every kind of whistle but still no joy,
I’m thinking he might be at the pound because I just read in his Dog manual that he likes to hang out with the lost and jailed losers.
I’m not sure why everyone seems to be looking for him in those big buildings with all that singing and Yelling, but I hope I find him first because I went there and it seems they love him so much they’ve been raising money to build him a Big new kennel,
Maybe he’s different now than I knew him as a child, I dunno.....?

Anyway
I’m so angry with him for letting those yellers waste their money looking for him.
When I get hold of him I’m going to keep him close and never let him go.

THE LITTLE RED PACK

The little red pack.

When I was small I was given a little red pack, it seemed so big then.
The pack wasn’t made of material and cord but of words and gifts of love and encouragement, of great things I had inside me .
I grabbed at that pack and tried to put it on my shoulders and carry it around for all to see, but it was too big so I would hold a strap and drag it around behind me.
It was so bright red then it seemed its color could never fade and so big it could never hold all my dreams.
As I grew I would find all sorts of treasure, gems of stone, driftwood and sea glass from hidden coves with colors red and blues, greens and yellows,
These weren’t made of washed up branches , broken rock or shattered glass smoothed by oceans, but of Friendships and memories, like the rise of a body in a kiss.
Carefully I would put them one by one inside my pack now on my shoulders.
As the years have drifted by
The bright color has starting to fade from the sun and small rips appeare from holes where as a child Ide dragged it.
The seams were now pulling apart from places Ide tried to patch it, Not with nylon or waxed thread but with tears and sadness.

At times on my journey Ide sit and rest awhile, Ide carefully lay out my pieces in front of me
Some of them now starting to fade from the glisten they once had or the memory they held.
Some people would walk by and just look but not see, others would take interest in some of the small shiny pieces and then walk away, others would walk forward to see the special ones I held out to them, looking me in the eye they would curl my hand into a fist crushing them to dust as tears would washed away the broken pieces between the cracks where I lay.

Again I would slowly put back in what I had left, With an old cloth Ide try to shine the faded pieces before Ide lay them carefully inside.
, Older now the pack still seemed heavy but no longer with what I once saw as gems and colored sea glass but of rocks and broken discarded bottles. The seams now too thin to re-sew Ide again throw it over one shoulder.
Despite the contents or faded color and torn seams, this pack was given with love, so much love, it’s the same pack I was given at birth and weve journeyed so far.
At times it’s been full of treasures and has held through pouring rains and long dark winters in dusty attics.
Now When I look over my shoulder all I can see is the path Ive trodden, but I know this little red pack is there and holds all that I can’t leave BEHIND!

, For a last time you will close that familiar door behind you and again notice the tree you planted shimmer in the fading light .
You will not watch your steps as the track you walk will be known to you.

Listen…

The storm is raging and I’ve run so far on this black sand that the small beach town is now only a dim distant light.
Whitewater, seaweed and driftwood swirl around my feet as ocean waves battle the land for territory.
All I can feel is the drifting ocean spray mixed with driving rain and tears against my face.

Running; I let my arms hang by my side and hold them out just a little as if to fly, while leaning into the wind
I turn my face skywards to feel the rain and notice the storm front above moving over me like a prowling black cat.

I slowly stop , it seems all of creations is screaming at me.
I sit in the sand running my hands through my soaked hair,
I look out to sea and call………
I put my head between my knees.

I listen….

Again I call… “it has to be now”!!
Moments go by and I hear my heart beat slow and by breathing settle.

I can still feel the rain on my face but behind this dune it’s soft like fingers tips touching my cheek.
The wind now dulled by my shelter I hear the ocean so clear, like thousands of voices speaking in the same tone.

I listen…

Beside me the grass reeds softly blowing touch my hand as if to get my attention.
I raise my head to catch the sun making a last effort to touch the southern sky spraying orange and yellow against a jet-black horizon.

And I listen …

Floppy reels rolling out shades of colour first greys with broken edges and tape flickering by.

Old scenes scratching over dim broken colours at times turning clear then fading back as patches of stretched film flicker and runs of colour and images blend.

Scenes fragmented by the stop start of the creator become
Images of images that alone were still and unclear now melt one into the other.

With erratic movements and lack of continuity between colour and light the story unreels creating beautiful images in colours pastal on grey.
what once was fragmented pieces is now a story ,not clear and unscratched but vibrant and real ….reel too real,,,,

I wake to the shattering of dawn. …Roosters set the tone then the motorbikes and trucks, next the people, the yelling the laughter…

then the music ,the music, the music…

In the streets it seems vehicle horns are attached to the brakes and
Old motorbikes weave through traffic as ladies ride side saddle.

Policewomen dressed and walking the streets cat walk style like a prada fashion show.

Mini vans with only room for two rolling out Spanish disco
Latin dancing in the streets…in the stores, in the car parks…
And the music… the music. The music..

Coke in glass bottles, sweet coffe in shots, bolied green bananas planteins yuka and eggs.

Open roads and city soon becomes small villages with Muddy Street and
Laughing children run along side.
The dogs sleep in the streets as softballs played with sticks and plastic bottles.
Young girls with braids of every color and eyes of expressions like I’ve never seen.

And the music, the music, the music.

Misty mountains a back drops to villages full of colour. Houses painted yellows and reds blues and purple, Hill of pineapples and bananas ,mango and coco …

Olive skinned women Dressed in beautiful attire with smiles of an Arabian princess opening doors from houses made of thatch and broken boards and steeping into muddy streets, high heels and dresses, brushing off chickens and throwing back their hair.

And the music the music the music…

Sea Gull..

Blown so far from home …he sits on an old broken street. Ragged and torn,
He turns his head down as passing cars blow wind across his path …
Slowly walking, looking, searching…
Alone ……
. The smell of salt and seaweed now a memory, the sound of traffic echoing likes the ocean swell breaking to the shore…
He thinks of the others, how together they soared above waters so clear and sat below deep green trees on rocky shores and watched the tide roll away revealing rock pool and kelp beds….
How the sun would set just for them as they sat on sandy beaches and watched as color spread across a glassy evening sea…
As the final moments of a day drew to an end they could smell a wind of change for the day to come.
they would sit silently and listen as all of creation would speak wispers of love that would gather with the misty salt of evening air and fall on them like rain.
Night ,..now night.. they would dream of the day gone by, moments they shared, heights they soared …dolphins they teased …
Now just a memory.
As the streets became dark and rains starts to fall, The broken streets seemingly speak and yell as cars throw dirty water …
He moves to a corner,. barbed wire and rusted iron …night again night, he tucks his head close to his chest and dreams broke dreams…on broken streets in a broken world

OLD beauty

When I was child I was taught beauty was a colour, a bright colour, I learned beauty was good things, nice things, sunsets, towns with trees, pretty people, beaches with white sand. Sunny days, I didn’t know where beauty was, so as a child I was taught …

I learned beauty was a nice family with two parents, beauty was a clean street.
I was taught to see it by my teachers my friends, parents and media. The people on my journey they taught me,..
But to be fully present is to give to that which we are present in, the key to seeing beauty in the present is to look outside of where we have always seen beauty.

To be present only for that which catches our eye keep’s us on the surface of the painted canvas on which we live

Behind painted pictures are layers of stretched cotton and cardboard to which oils slowly seeps.
To be amazed only by what’s painted disregards the marvel of the painter his colour and canvas board...

Raging storms,

The power of the driving rain against your skin, feeling the force of an unseen wind. Watching the fierce ocean fighting the land for territory. the grey against white, creations emotions written across a sky
So much beauty.

But The Tone of the man on TV taught me that storms held no beauty...the words used were always negative, lock up, batten down. , Relentless, destructive.
The word beautiful was reserved for where he saw beauty…he taught me a rainy day was the enemy of the beautiful.

Uniform Tree lined streets and houses, green lawns and sprinklers….
Cuddly dogs and drawn curtains.
Streets so clean that in the darkness you cant define the road. Form the path.

Im standing on the edge..eyes raised to the sky and falling into grace ,like colours Ive never seen.
The blue blood from the royal mixed with the deep red of the common..the yellow of the bumble Bee and the green of a cematery.
Now I see it!! Grace is a colour, the colour of wind and maple tears.

In a bold move today bush declared war on hurricanes....
we are making the message clear now that the states will not just sit
anymore and be pushed around by these hurricanes.Its time to fight back!
"by declaring war on hurricanes the united states is dealing with this in some kind of offical capacity..
there is war on drugs , a war on terriosm , and I think it would be irresponsable to not declare a war on these freedom- hating hurricanes.

taking the fight to the hurricanes..so we do not have to fight them at home.

troop deployment via catapult directly into the storm system.

last week i saw the end of beating as a crack head got the shit kicked out of her by her kid brother for smoking crack on the steets and leaving her baby at home..
tonight I saw about 8-10people beat a guy nearly to death over him having ripped off a house.all out my window.there are no rules except the unwritten ones...
